Murrayville Movie Nights in the Park – Designing the experience
Three free fun nights of movies in the park: Back to the Future, Home, and Pirates of the Caribbean. There was laughter, smiles, excitement, engagement, anticipation, memories, bonding and sharing.
We delivered a fun summer experience that got the community to come out and meet each other and share time together. Bringing to life the brand we created: Murrayville House. Your Home, Your Community.
To make this all happen we worked closely with the client’s Events Manager to coordinate and project manage an awesome event. It involved creating site plans, working with local councils, scouting locations, reaching out to community partners. Event partners included Royal Bank of Canada, Salvation Army Food Bank, St. John Ambulance, Remax, resident bloggers, local churches and dance groups. As well as, providing great activities and give-aways like; bouncy castles, face painting, colouring stations, yummy popcorn, glow sticks, selfie sticks, lanyards, and T-shirts, etc.
Marketing and promotion began well in advance with advertising, local poster drops, direct mail, and word-of-mouth spread from there. To get the excitement going we had VIP contests each movie night and a major prize of a movie night package in the winner’s backyard with their family and friends.
By developing a combined online and offline engagement strategy through print, website and social media, we created positive, strong engagement and awareness before, during and after for our client. People raved about the event to family and friends and we created great relationships between neighbours and a positive view of our client as an organization that cares about the community, and… everyone agreed the highlight of the event were the 3,000 bags of free popcorn!
